Ending domestic and sexual violence is an enormous task, but at the Houston Area Women’s Center, we believe that one day we will put a stop to the violence. But we cannot do it alone. We need the help of the entire community. We need the help of generous donors, dedicated volunteers and fearless advocates. 

There are countless opportunities for you to make a personal difference in the lives of survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Donate!  Get Involved and Give! We could not help survivors of domestic and sexual violence move their lives forward without the generous financial support of our donors. All gifts made to the Houston Area Women’s Center ensure that we will be able to continue providing our vital services to everyone who needs them.   

Learn About It!  Join us for our informative and engaging Community Trainings. You’ll learn the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence, uncover the myths and discover facts about these issues. You'll also learn what to say and what not to say to survivors and find out what you can do to help create violence-free communities. 

Talk about it!  Become an Advocate. The most powerful voice of influence for legislators and policy makers comes from constituents.  Having a network of supporters committed to contacting their representatives regarding specific issues - via letter, e-mail, or office visits, is essential to helping us help survivors in moving their lives forward!

End it! – We LOVE our Volunteers! Volunteering is a proud tradition at the Houston Area Women’s Center and we are always seeking highly motivated volunteers to join our Volunteer Team. So, if you want to truly make a difference, consider volunteering at the Houston Area Women’s Center, or gather a group of friends to do a group volunteer project!
