Parents and Caregivers of Teens Fact: In 2010 in Texas, Reports of teen dating violence are on the rise, but yet the majority of parents are unaware of dating abuse among their children and their friends. If you suspect that your teenager is involved in an abusive relationship, we can help. The Houston Area Women’s Center has the resources and the staff to help you and your family deal with this difficult situation. We urge you to talk to your teen casually and openly about abusive relationships and share with them some of the warning signs of an unhealthy, potentially abusive relationship.
