Wish List 2009

Though we appreciate the generosity of our fellow Houstonians, we are no longer accepting used clothing at any location due to the closing of the resale store.

Many clients come to us after fleeing a dangerous situation with only a small portion of their belongings carried in plastic bags.  The following items assist women and their children during their stay at our Shelter, as well as when they transition into their own home through our Supportive Housing Program. Additionally, non-residential clients expressing a need will also be provided with items when available.

Food and snack items keep our food pantry stocked for emergency needs of non-residential clients, nourish sexual assault and domestic violence survivors when visited by our DVAA’s/SAAC’s in the hospital, provide snacks to children in court working with Children Court Services and for children in our Child Care when their parents are attending group. Additionally, bulk or large food items assist the shelter in feeding clients 3 meals a day.  We cannot serve previously-cooked and/or opened food at the shelter.

General Wish List

To help clients regain the basic necessities they may have left behind, please consider donating the following items.  Click on any of the wish list options listed below for more information. The items in red reflect the high need items.

             Wish List Options:

    • USED TOYS - sad, but true, we cannot accept them, and must throw them away
