Without your contributions, we simply could not continue providing services to the thousands of people seeking help from us each year. Your support provides the monetary means to run our programs and reflects the community’s commitment to ending domestic and sexual violence. The Houston Area Women’s Center is a 501 (c ) (3) organization, and you may be entitled to a tax deduction for your donations.

Employer Matching Gifts

Many companies offer matching gift programs that match charitable gifts. Employers often match any monetary donation made by their employee. Employers also make monetary donations for each volunteer hour the employee gives to the organization. Please check with your employer’s Human Resources or Accounting Department to find out if they can match your donation to the Houston Area Women’s Center.

DONATE YOUR VEHICLE

It's Fast, Easy & Convenient!

Your donated vehicle will be auctioned and the proceeds collected from the vehicle will benefit our agency. Vehicle donations are tax deductible. The vehicle does not have to run.  All vehicles must have a clear title. Our towing service is free of charge.   Please have your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) ready when you call.

RECYCLE YOUR CELL PHONES

Support the HopeLine from Verizon Wireless. Verizon Wireless collects no-longer-used wireless phones, batteries and accessories in any condition from any wireless service provider.  Phones that can be refurbished are sold for reuse and those without value are disposed of in an environmentally sound way. Proceeds from the HopeLine program are used to provide wireless phones and cash grants to local shelters and non-profit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention and awareness. Please bring your no longer used wireless phones, batteries and accessories to the Houston Area Women’s Center or a Verizon Wireless store front near you.   

Abitibi Paper Retriever

Support our agency’s paper recycling program from Abitibi Paper Retriever. Help the Women’s Center meet its recycling goal by placing your newspapers, magazines, office/school papers, shopping catalogs and mail in the marked recycling bin located in our parking lot at 1010 Waugh Drive.  The paper must be clean, dry and free of foreign objects such as plastic, twine, metal or glass. If the bin is full, please notify the executive assistant at 713.528.6798 ext. 2227.  The paper will be collected by the Abitibi Paper Retrievers and delivered to a processing center.  The Women’s Center will receive a donation from Abitibi Paper Retriever depending on the amount of paper that is collected.

Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor Program 

Join the Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor Program today and designate The Houston Area Women's Center as your charity of choice!  Print this letter and give it to the Kroger cashier next time you go to Kroger.  Kroger will link your Kroger card with this form, and you will no longer have to carry the form or the previously supplied "Kroger Share Card."
